In the Market for a New Car? - When We Speak TV

In the Market for a New Car? - When We Speak TV

When I drive “out of town”, I frequently rent a vehicle, and it never fails that I want to buy a new car whenever I drive a different car. (We, humans are never satisfied!). Well, on Easter Weekend 2011, I went back to my birth town of Whiteville, Tennessee, to attend my family reunion. I had a great time; it was overwhelming to see family members that I was unaware of and some that I hadn’t seen in years.

[Your video will appear here]

But I’m not writing this to tell you about my family reunion experience. I’m writing this to tell you about the vehicle that I rented during this time. Due to the economy and gas prices, it is vital that I save money and not spend lots of money on gas. Therefore, I decided to rent from Hertz Rental Car (as I generally do) and get a very economy efficient vehicle. (In the past I didn’t care about this but now I do!)

So I decide to rent the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze.

(When I first saw the vehicle my mind said “It’s cute but it smaller than what I’m used to.) Once I was given the keys to the vehicle, I did the normal “walk around” to make sure there weren’t any dings or marks that needed to be noted and checked to make sure the tank was full.

Thereafter, I started the vehicle and proceeded out of Atlanta Hartsfield Airport, as my partner, drove my car behind me. (I had a few more things to pack before I could leave for my trip). Once I got back to my partners house, where I was leaving my car, I parked the rental in the driveway and instantly started playing with the many buttons and gadgets in my face. (I’ve always liked exploring so why not explore this car before I get it on the road!)

I was relieved to see that it came with Sirius XM Radio, as well as, USB and MP3 connections. (On a road trip, it is imperative that I have musical options!) Plus, it also allowed me to see how many miles I could go before I needed to fill up again, my average speed, my average miles per gallon, and much more!

After I had finished playing with the vehicle, I packed my things and we were “off to see the Wizard”! (Just Kidding) We were off to the city of Nashville, Tennessee, to visit my cousin.

We stopped there for a few hours and then on to Jackson, Tennessee, to our room at the Double Tree Hotel. (I was pleasantly surprised to see that someone that I used to go to church with, as child, worked there! It was very nice seeing her again!)

NOW I’M GOING TO FAST FORWARD, A FEW DAYS

Once my time in Tennessee was over, it was time to head back to metro Atlanta. During the stay, I only remember filling the Cruze with gas, once. During my stay I had driven from Atlanta to Nashville, from Nashville to Jackson, from Jackson to Whiteville, from Whiteville to Jackson, from Jackson to Memphis, and from Memphis back to Jackson. (And I had only filled up once since the original full tank of gas that I left Atlanta with?) That is a total of 600+ miles. (And you know I did more than just drive there, I also rode around!)

THAT CAN’T BE RIGHT?!?!? CAN IT?

YES IT’S RIGHT!

The Chevrolet Cruze gets 38-42 miles per gallon, depending on the model that you have. Not only that, it also has a remote start up. (This is a necessity in the scorching summer or glacial winter.)

I guess I don’t have to tell you that I was very delighted with this vehicle, I wrote a blog about it!

So if you are in the market for a new economic car. I would definitely recommend the Chevrolet Cruze. The only things I disliked about it is the size of the back seat area and the acceleration. But of course, these things are minor to some…..Despite those things I would still buy one. Matter of fact I was so tempted to buy one after I dropped it off .

If you have an opportunity, definitely test drive the Chevrolet Cruze. One thing I can guarantee you will like about it is the gas mileage!
