Broadcast Music, Inc. brought legends and contemporary stars together to celebrate the careers of gospel giants Israel Houghton, LaShun Pace and The Anointed Pace Sisters at its 16th annual Trailblazers of Gospel Music Awards in Atlanta.

The event, held at the Rialto Center for the Arts, also recognized BMI’s Most-Performed Gospel Song of the Year: “The Gift,” written and performed by Donald Lawrence. The song, featured on Lawrence’s album Best For Last, topped the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart and achieved wide-spread success. BMI also recognized five additional opuses as Top-Performed Gospel Songs of the Year (2014): “1 On 1,” written by Lucius B. Hoskins and performed by Zacardi Cortez; “Clean This House,” co-written by Philip Cornish and Isaac Carree, who is the performer; “God Will Make a Way,” written by Ay’Ron Lewis and performed by Shirley Caesar; “Here in Our Praise,” co-written by Michael Bethany and Fred Hammond, who is the performer; and “It’s Working,” co-written by Aaron Lindsey and William Murphy, who is the performer.

DO PEOPLE STILL BUY #GOSPEL MUSIC?

A few days ago, I was on my way to work, listening to a gospel radio show.  I don't think it was Yolanda Adams or Donnie McClurkin  (but it could have been).... I'm not really sure. 

 Anyway...they were stating that people are no longer buying gospel music.  When I initially heard that, I said, "that's not true".  Then I asked myself, "what is the last gospel album that you've bought?"  Of course, I had to think.....REALLY LONG!!! Then, I remembered that the last gospel album I purchased was Reborn by Lashun Pace.....and that's not a new release!!! 

After I finally realized that I hadn't purchased a gospel album in a long time, I started questioning why I wasn't buying....  So, rather than say why I haven't bought a gospel album lately, I thought I'd do my share by sharing a few gospel albums with you that are available for purchase such as this new music by Karew Records...... (ENJOY!!)

#Gospel Singer LaShun Pace shares with When We Speak!!!

Some people wanted to meet Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and someone else....I however, wanted to meet LaShun Pace (she is a gospel singer from Atlanta).

If you have ever read any of my blogs, you know that I have admired LaShun Pace since I was a child.  Also I blogged about the amazing time I had when I attended her live recording for her Reborn album.

 After all these years of admiring LaShun Pace music, I finally got a chance to meet her and to have her on my show!!! So without continuing on with a lot of talk.....I present to you LaShun Pace on When We Speak!!!!

Quan Howell Is BACK!!!!!

I am always excited to see the great things that previous guests on When We Speak are doing!  I am especially excited for my friend Quan Howell!!!  As many of you know, Quan was originally a member of The Sounds of Blackness and he led their very popular song Hold On (Change Is Coming).  In addition, if you are a true Tyler Perry fan, you remember him in the Tyler Perry play Madea's Family Reunion and most recently Quan, was a contestant on BET's Sunday Best.

Throughout the years, Quan Howell has endured many trials, tribulations, career heartaches, and much more but he is still here.......stronger than ever!  His new song is definitely suitable....."I'm Back"
