International recording artist, Tasha LaRae, was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. Shortly after her first year of college, she relocated to Atlanta, GA to pursue a career in music.

In 2008, Ms. LaRae began traveling internationally as the female lead vocalist for 2x Grammy Award Winning group, Arrested Development (“Tennessee”, “Mr. Wendel”, “People Everyday”). In the winter of 2014, Tasha LaRae founded the Racism Sucks Fashion Movement in an effort to promote peace and unity within various communities across the U.S. and around the world. To date, her shirts are represented in over 30 states, 20 countries and 5 continents. April 1, 2016, Ms. LaRae released her single, "Find My Way" on Quantize Recordings, presented by DJ Spen & Tracy Hamlin and produced by Atlanta based producer, Trü.ski the Transmitter. This soulful house package includes remixes by DJ Spen, Earl TuTu & John Khan, DJ Beloved, and Larry Espinosa.

Derek "Fonzworth Bentley" on When We Speak!!!

Fonzworth Bentley is currently the host of BET's Lift Every Voice.  Jermaine Sain is the host and creator of the Atlanta based talk show, When We Speak.

The First Gentleman of Hip Hop, Fonzworth Bentley, Derek Watkins, graduated from Atlanta’s Morehouse College with a bachelor of science degree concentrating in biology, then attended New York’s prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology. After becoming one of the most popular maitre d’s in New York City, he raised his profile as Sean “Diddy” Combs’s personal assistant.

He later became the arbiter of good taste for Courvoisier, and Style & Fashion correspondent for Access Hollywood, covering the Oscars, Golden Globes, and Grammys. He was also named one of People magazine’s “50 Hottest Bachelors” in 2004.  Bentley has appeared on MTV’s Making of the Band 2 and in music videos with OutKast, Kanye West, and Usher. He has also appeared in two feature films, Honey and Fat Albert. Fonzworth Bentley lives in Los Angeles.
Bentley is the author of the book, Advance Your Swagger: How to Use Manners, Confidence, and Style to Get Ahead. He released a much talked-about album, “C.O.L.O.U.R.S” featuring artists such as Kanye West, Andre 3000, Lil’ Wayne and others.
Aside from being an authority on style, manners, and Hip-Hop culture, Bentley is recognized throughout the music industry and the country as a talented artist and trend-setter.

I have a great respect for people who follow the news and blog all day…… How do you find time to do that?  I’m on the internet nearly every day looking for music and artists to interview on When We Speak or  feature on When We Speak TV and the process is  exhausting…. But the treasures that I find are priceless, like this band I found called Family Force 5. 

Forgive me if I’m late to the party!  I’m sure some of you are already familiar with them, but I’m not…..  From what I hear though, I will definitely be checking out more of them…

The Sound of Phillippia

I have spoken with, met, and sang with many great vocalists.  And now I can add Phillippia to that list of great vocalists.  On November 28, 2012, I decided to check out Crissy Collins's Birthday Jam Session. There were a number of singers, including Crissy Collins, that performed.  Before the night was up, Phillippia also peformed and I was blown away!

The name "Phillippia" was already familiar to me because one of my friends always told me how good she was but I had never experienced Phillippia for myself!  When she first started I thought, "What's so special about her" but then as the song went on, I could physically see Phillippia transform.  It was like she fully let go of who she was and became the song in the physical! 

You should definitely check her out!  That night I got a chance to speak with her briefly!  Her spirit was just as warm as her vocals! 

When We Speak TV would like to encourage Phillippia to keep using her gift to the highest level!

Each interview on When We Speak, encourages me, more and more.  Sometimes it's just the thought that the show is growing.  Sometimes its something the artist said.  Sometimes its just the spirit and warmth of the artist. 

I was honored to sit down and speak with Gareth Asher before his show at Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA recently.....Do you want to know what blew me away with Gareth?  His vocals!  OMG! Below is a video of Gareth singing but the video doesn't begin to describe how great Gareth sounds in person! 
I remember thinking to myself..."He sounds like a recording!"  I keep looking at his mouth because it sounded as if I was playing a cd........

I just wanted to share an event with you that you don't want to miss....If you are in Atlanta, come out and enjoy Crissy Collins at Acoustix Jazz Restaurant and Lounge. She will be there on September 12th and 26th.

If you don't know who Crissy Collins is; she currently sings background vocals for superstar Beyonce. She has also acted in Tyler Perry productions such as Madea's Big Happy Family and Madea Goes To Jail.
